Budget - August 2011
Our first two fund drives successfully met their estimated budgeted goals of US $1,039 and $433, respectively. The generous donations of contributors went toward keeping development and developer going through the first of August.
The current fund drive, to meet expenditures through the month of August, seeks to raise US $1,650. This money will go toward recurrent and outstanding expenses during the month of August, in substantial part for:
- Technology: Includes good faith payments for cellular and wifi services in arrears, as well as recurring online service fees.
- Shelter: Includes current storage fees and enough metro transit fare to keep your friendly neighborhood programmer out of the elements at night.
I'm purposely keeping the budget for this campaign limited to recurrent expenses and arrears on cell and wifi services. The intent is to continue refinement and promotion of the Govmesh local governments portal and resume development of basic Tangle contribution functionality, using the Lekplay site for prototyping and pre-alpha testing. These tasks may be somewhat slower to develop than initially planned, as August will also be a month for pursuing alternative income streams to ensure that development will be sustainable going forward.
Once I've demonstrated—to my own satisfaction—that progress continues, I'll be more comfortable seeking funds to cover non-emergency, non-essential bills (currently going unpaid).
